Get up and out of Salt Lake, and go for a ride in the cooler climes of the Wasatch Front and Solitude Resort.

Solitude Resort will begin offering lift-served mountain biking on Sunrise chairlift Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., starting June 17. Featuring more than 20 miles of tree-lined trails, Solitude offers some scenic and accessible single track, with season passes available for $79, full-day passes for $20 and single ride passes for $10 (children six and under are free with a paying adult). Solitude also offers rentals, from the Powderhorn Adventure Center.

Make an event of the day. After your ride, grab a bite and/or a beer at one of the resort’s three food spots: Honeycomb Grill; Stone Haus Pizzeria & Creamery; and the Thirsty Squirrel. For dining hours of operation, menus and other info, visit

After you’ve mellowed out a bit, consider a round of disc golf. Starting at 9,000 feet, Solitude Mountain Resort’s 18-hole disc golf course is one of Utah’s finest high-altitude courses. The course winds along the scenic mountainside and the holes range from 300 to 500 feet in length. Access to the course is free for guests at the Nordic Center, so plan on a short hike or, if you already have your day pass, take a ride up the Sunrise char to the first hole.

Solitude Resort plays host to several mountain events, from a mountain bike race series and wildflower festival to a European auto show and Taste of the Wasatch dining event. Special summer lodging packages are also available through Solitude Resort Lodging. Details on event dates, lodging packages, lift and rental pricing, and all resort hours of operations is available at For more information on any of Solitude Mountain Resort’s summer offerings, visit
