To be included in this ultimate guide, mountain bike festivals must include non-race activities like group rides, riding clinics, camping, beer gardens, live music, bike demos, shenanigans, raffles, swag and vendors.
As a side note, MTB festivals take place in some of the best mountain biking destinations and trail networks in America. So even if you can’t make it to one of these festivals, use this list as a planning tool for your next mountain bike road trip.

Santos Fat Tire Festival
Mar 6-9, Ocala FL
Westerners struggle with the idea of mountain biking in Florida. Why? There are no mountains. But seriously, you’ll get your share of total ascent on the Ocala trail network, which is arguably the best place to mountain bike in Florida.
the Ocala trail network includes more than 70miles of trails, for all skill levels, and 4 trailheads to choose from to start your rides.
The Santos Fat Tire Festival is hosted by the Ocala Mountain Bike Association in partnership with the Florida State Parks and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Proceeds from the event benefit trail maintenance & building, safety patrol training and equipment.
The Festival features on site camping, a huge vendor village, food trucks, entertainment, skills clinics and three nights and days of general MTB excitement.
This amazing bike event also includes an EPIC 50 RIDE on Saturday but, if you’re like me, you’ll peel off long before you finish. Learn more about the Santos Fat Tire Festival at santosfattire.com.
Sedona Mountain Bike Festival
Mar 14-16, Sedona AZ
When we reached out to the MTB community and asked what are the best mountain bike festivals in the US, the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival was the most frequent response. If you live in the Western states, you hear a lot of talk about how magical of a place Sedona is. And locals know Sedona is the best place to mountain bike in Arizona.
If you’re looking for an active and bustling festival, this is the festival for you. The trails will be busy and the events packed with MTB lovers. The Sedona Mountain Bike Festival includes a main Expo/festival, bike demos, shuttled rides, gear vendors, a beer garden, great bands, food trucks, skills clinics and a whole lotta sweet red singletrack! Learn more about the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival at sedonamtbfestival.com.
Hurricane Mountain Bike Festival
Mar 28-30, Hurricane, UT
I recall camping on Gooseberry Mesa one year. It was the weekend before the Hurricane Mountain Bike Festival and I had to get real creative to find a place to camp. I wasn’t surprised. After all, Hurricane is the most popular place to mountain bike in Southern Utah. Is it any wonder they put on a festival there?
This year, the festival will be based at Quail Creek State Park, which is just about 10 minute drive east of Hurricane. There are plenty of trail in the park, but the venue is also close to all the classic trail networks like Jem and Gooseberry Mesa.
Quail Creek has some of the warmest waters in the state and a mild winter climate, with mountain bike trails right from the campground. So bring your paddle boards and swim shorts to cool off after or in between rides.
The Hurricane Mountain Bike Festival pass includes three days of shuttles, two dinners and a breakfast, raffle tickets, swag, bike demos, skills clinics and access to the block party, live music and beer garden.
There’s also a lot of free, dispersed camping in the area. I mentioned Gooseberry Mesa, but camping spots on the mesa are hard to come by and the location is a bit far from the actual festival. The Sheep Bridge South area near JEM Trails network is another great option for dispersed camping. Enjoy! Learn more about the Hurricane Mountain Bike Festival at hurricanemtbfestival.com
Sea Otter Classic
Apr 10-13, Monterey, CA
The Sea Otter Classic is more than a festival. More than a race. More than an Expo. It’s where the world comes to celebrate cycling. And it’s not strictly for mountain bikers. It’s a festival for anyone who enjoys or appreciates the bicycle and outdoor adventures including road, gravel and mountain biking.
If you love the idea of being part of a cool scene, with active people who all share a passion for human-powered two wheelers and the outdoors, then you gotta check out this event!
Test ride the latest gear from 1,000+ bike brands, rip through gnarly gravel and shred down massive berms in one of 12 Races and untimed recreational rides.
The Sea Otter Classic is one of the largest mountain bike festivals in the US as well as the entire world—drawing riders from all over the globe to compete in a variety of events. Held annually in Monterey, California, the race attracts both professional and amateur riders for a variety of mountain bike, road bike, and gravel events. Learn more about this bike event at seaotterclassic.com.
Fruita Fat Tire Festival
May 2-4, Fruita, CO
Colorado is a great state for mountain biking and the local riders there are super friendly. I remember camping at 18 Road by myself one year. One of my camp neighbors spotted me looking all sad and lonely. 30 minutes later I was riding with the gang at one of the best places to mountain bike in the world.
The Fruita Fat Tire Festival offers three days of riding on the legendary 18 Road/Bookcliffs trail system. There are two venues: one for bike demos and riding, the other for the main expo in downtown Fruita. A pass includes a t-shirt, demos, group rides and guided rides.
If you can get there early enough, there’s free camping in the 18-Road area. The BLM recently expanded the paid sites at the 18 Road campground, so there are now more quality paid sites, but fewer free sites a bit farther away from the trails. Best bet is to reserve a spot at 18-Road campground early, or settle for one of the free BLM sites in North Fruita Desert.
Bike demos are available for a wide variety of brands, including e-Bikes, which are now legal on the trails at the 18 Road venue! Festival Venue 2 in Downtown Fruita is ground zero for more MTB Vendors (apparel and other gear), SKA Brewing beer, food and fun, high energy music. Visit fruitafattirefestival.com for more info.
Swell Lamar Guymon Memorial Mtn. Bike Festival
May 2-5, Huntington, UT
We just added this little gem of a festival put on by the MECCA Mountain Bike Club and held at Buckhorn RV Resort. The event includes casual and organized group rides based on skill level.
We’ll add details, but it looks like there are catered meals, live music, games and prizes. No vendor booths. This is a small event but the trails around the San Rafael Swell are epic.
There is camping on site and at several other organized and dispersed camp sites in the area. Learn more about the Lamar Guymon Memorial Mtn. Bike Festival.
Allegrippis Dirt Fest
May 9-11 Hesston, PA
The 2025 Allegrippis Dirt Fest is presented by The Friends of Raystown Lake/Rothrock Outfitters and takes place at the Allegrippis Trail System in Hesston, PA.
Formerly known as Allegrippis Trail Fest, organizers are billing this year’s event as a comeback festival. The event is a non-profit event that supports the Allegrippis Trail System.
Allegrippis trails are somewhat unique in that they are arranged as stacked loops, giving riders the opportunity to plan routes as short or as long as they would like. There are nearly endless combinations, so riders who come back time after time have the opportunity to use a new route each time.
The heart of the event (i.e., the expo area) is moving back into Susquehannock Campground. Registration gets you access to demos, skills clinics, group rides and good times. The festival includes vendors, camping, a skills park, live music, beer vendors and of course group rides on the Allegrippis’ trails. Learn more about the Allegrippis Dirt Fest.
Bentonville Bike Fest
May 23-25, Bentonville AR
Every year, the Bentonville Bike Fest draws in cyclists and mountain bikers from all over the country. Organizers estimate the festival draws 25k people each year, making this one of the largest mountain bike festival in the US.
Bentonville Bike Fest is a put on by a company called Pedal to the Medal LLC. The festival seems to be a bit commercialized with large corporate sponsors and IMBA connections. So if bit crowds and energy are your thing, go for it.
The three-day event features both competitive and recreational rides as well as a variety of other activities for spectators and participants alike. While the main focus is on biking, the Bike Fest also includes a number of other attractions, making it a fun and unique event for the whole family. Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival
Jun 14-15, Port Gamble, WA
The Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival returns Snoqualmie Point Park located in in Raging River State Forest. The trail system offers more than 30 miles of trails and 2,500 feet of vertical.

The Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival includes bike demos and 40-plus vendors, group rides, bike shuttles, skills clinics, kids zones, food trucks, beer garden and more. Sounds like a good time to us. Learn more about the Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival at evergreenmtb.org.
Marquette Trails Fest
Jun 20-22, Marquette, MI
The Marquette Trails Fest is more of a multi-day, multi-discipline set of races, but it does have a bit of a social component and recreational mountain bike riding, so we decided it belonged on the list. The highlight race is the dual slalom that looks like so much fun. In addition to camping and group rides, there are yoga classes, food and drink. Learn more about Marquette Trails Fest.
Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival
Jun 21-22 Meyers, CA
The Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival is a two-day event full of pedaling and community celebration. The festival kicks off with a bike Demo Day at the iconic Corral Trail network on Saturday. Demos include the latest bikes from a wide array of brands and local shops, and shuttles are available to the top of Corral Trail.
The festivities continue on Sunday with the group rides (intermediate and advanced) in the morning, followed by the afternoon festival at the stunning Tahoe Paradise Park in Meyers, CA.
The FREE afternoon festival features live music, food trucks and a beer garden, a vendor village, raffles, a Kids’ Zone, and a healthy dose of competition courtesy of our shenanigans contests! The shenanigans alone make this oner of the most popular mountain bike festivals in the Western US.
Tahoe Paradise Park does not offer designated camping facilities, but there are several camping options available in the surrounding areas of Lake Tahoe, including designated campgrounds and RV parks. For backcountry camping, you might want to consider Paradise Lake in Tahoe National Forest, which is a popular destination for overnight stays. Learn more about the Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival.
Mountain Bike Oregon
June 26-29, Oakridge, OR
Mountain Bike Oregon is billed as an all-inclusive three-day mountain biking festival. Oakridge considers itself as the mountain bike capital of the Pacific Northwest. A lot of regions that favor MTB tourism will say things like that. But Oakridge is one of six IMBA Gold Level trail centers. There is that.
Onsite camping, post-ride activities, live music, food trucks, all-inclusive beer garden and shenanigans makes this one of Wasatch Rider’s top picks for mountain bike festivals in the U.S. Of course there are also demos, shuttles and skills clinics. Learn more about Mountain Bike Oregon here.
Boise Mountain Bike Festival
Jun 27-29, Bogus Bason, ID
Boise is my favorite small big city. If you are planning to travel to the Boise Mountain Bike Festival, make sure you take a day or two to hang out in Boise. It’s got a cool college town vibe and has a ton of great bars, brew pubs, distilleries and restaurants in the downtown district.
The Boise Mountain Bike Festival is hosted by SWIMBA (Southwest Idaho Mountain Bike Association) and takes place at Bogus Basin Resort, about 30 minutes north of Boise.
This mountain biking event includes group rides (XC, Trail, Lift-Served DH, Gravel), meet-and-greet with local bike shops, skill demonstrations and more.
Watch the pros do their thing followed, participate in a Q&A, drop your jaw watching the Whip-Off Jam Big Air by pro riders and the Raw Slalom Challenge. Over 13k in raffle giveaways, food and beer vendors.
In addition to all the festival activities, Bogus Basin resort offers a challenge courses, an alpine sled and lodging. If you want to camp, there should be campgrounds and dispersed camping in the surrounding national forrest. For more information, visit boisemtnbikefestival.com.
Downieville Classic
Jul 7-10, Downieville, CA
The Downieville Classic is as much of a race as it is a festival. Organizers bill the event as a weekend of semi-organized anarchy in the mountains. People come from all over the US—and the world—to race the Downieville trails. It’s an amazing place to ride and an amazing bike event.
The festival atmosphere is electric with live entertainment Thursday through Saturday night, including music, films and dance parties. There are food trucks, a beer garden, camping and plenty of vendors selling bike gear.
If that wasn’t enough, the festival includes events like a big air river jump, shuttles, and a log pull championship…what ever the heck that is.
The whole town comes out to support the event and there’s a real sense of community pride. After your ride, hang out by the river and enjoy the beautiful Lost Sierra. Learn more at downievilleclassic.com.
Northwest Tune-Up
Jul 11-13, Bellingham, WA
The Northwest Tune-Up is a bike, beer and music festival held in celebration of Pacific Northwest culture. Locals refer to this as PNW culture. This three-day event showcases the beauty of the region and everything it has to offer.
Whether exploring world-class mountain bike singletrack, enjoying each evening’s lineup of live music on Bellingham’s waterfront or indulging in the best beers from across the Northwest, the Tune-Up has something for everyone.
Bike events include fun rides, races, clinics and a downtown jump jam and a zero gravity bike show.
Unlike most bike festivals—where everything happens at a single trailside venue—the entire Bellingham community is seems to be involved in this event with local art, food, breweries and other small businesses joining together to showcase the best in PNW culture.
And finally, in a world where festivals are struggling to get sponsors and vendors, the Northwest Tune-up has an impressive number of bike companies and vendors attending. This tells me theyre doing someting rigt in Bellingham. Learn more about the Northwest Tune-up at nwtuneup.com.
Bike Bash WV

Big Bear Lake Trail Center is an amazing venue with almost 50 miles of trails and a great place to mountain bike if you find yourself in the wild and wonderful West Virginia.

Rooted Mountain Bike Festival
Jul 24-27 Bemus Point NY
The Rooted Mountain Bike Festival is a women’s-only, all skill level mountain bike event, created because nothing like it exists within a ten hour near western New York. I’m just gonna say it. This isn’t fair. All-girl festivals sound sick. All-guy festivals? Not so much.
Rooted Mountain Bike Festival creator Heather Kinal wanted a place to learn new skills and ride with other women and decided to create what couldn’t be found locally. She wanted to build an event that would be so good, that women would travel hours to participate in.
Kinal says “Rooted is on a mission to empower women in nature through education and encouragement, while supporting our local outdoor resources and recreational spaces.” So far it seems Rooted has acheived that mission: last year, women 15 different states and Canada came out to the festival. rootedmtbfest.com and on Facebook @RootedMTBFest
Flow State Festival
Jul 25-27, Ascutney, VT
The Flow State Festival takes place in Brownsville, Vermont and includes all the features we love at Wasatch Rider. No racing, but plenty of product demos, an expo, guided rides, clinics, camping, food trucks and beer, live music, and more.
If you like music, the Flow State Festival is a hot ticket. Organizers have multiple bands playing both Friday and Saturday night. So get the Friday afternoon and get ready to jam.
There will also be masseuse on site to ease your aching muscles, and yoga classes to participate in between your rides. Shenanigans are off the hook and include a costume dance party Saturday night.
The festival is organized by Ascutney Trails and Mountain Flyer Magazine. Learn more about the Flow State Festival at flowstatemtbfestival.com.
Crested Butte Junior Bike Week
Jul 25-29, Crested Butte, CO
Crested Butte claims to be the birthplace of mountain biking and, while many may not believe it is, it does indeed have a very long history in the the sport.
Sadly, Outerbike Crested Butte has been put on the back burner, for this year at least, so Junior Bike Week is the only festival the Crestie Butte’rs have for now.
Crested Butte Junior Bike Week is a family-friendly mountain bike event designed to celebrate kids and bikes. Throughout this week-long event, junior bikers of all ages can enjoy mountain biking clinics, racing, group rides, and even a bit of trail work.
And us adult parents? Well, we can ride, camp, enjoy the local beer. Learn more about Crested Butte Junior Bike Week at juniorbikeweek.com.
Jurassic Classic
Aug 15-17, Lander WY
Lander, Wyoming is situated in the foothills of the Wind River mountains smack dab in the middle of the state. Lander’s high desert and alpine trail systems make for some great Western riding—think Fruita, CO and Vernal, UT.
The Jurassic Classic festivities are focused at City Park where they provide free camping, food trucks, live music, shenanigans, swag, raffles, a beer tent and a MTB movie festival.
On Saturday, the main ride event place about 15 minutes out of town at Sinks Canyon. The day starts with an included biker’s brunch, then jumps right into shuttles, bike demos, skills clinics and group rides.
The shuttles are well organized, with volunteers loading up customized trailers with bikes and hauling about 10 riders per shuttle. In between shuttles, everyone hangs out drinking cold beverages and talking trails and bikes with the locals and shops that provide the demos.
After a day of riding, everyone returns to City Park for more festivities , food and live music. Sunday offers more riding. I opted for the trail building session at the Alpine Science Institute.
The way the Jurassic Classic organizers put the event together makes it easy to engage with locals and other riders. I really enjoyed the trail-work morning on Sunday. Digging dirt and cutting brush was a great way to meet new friends, and the morning’s work ended with a picnic lunch and eventually goodbyes.
The Jurassic Classic is one of the smaller Mountain Bike Festivals in the US, but probably one of the most authentic as well. Learn more about the Jurassic Classic at jurassicclassicfest.com.
Rebecca’s Private Idaho

There is also a group ride, happy hour and expo on the rest day complete with live music, food, awards, vendors, and games. Learn more at rebeccasprivateidaho.com.
Copper Harbor Trails Fest
Aug 29-31, Copper Harbor, MI
The Copper Harbor Trails Fest is Michigan’s longest running mountain bike festivals. This mountain bike event is race focused, but it has a solid fun component with music, beer, and good times on Saturday and Sunday!
This all-ages event begins with a classic XC mountain bike race on Saturday morning, a Downhill race that afternoon and a race for the kids after that. The day wraps up in the park downtown with music and beer from local and regional breweries.
Sunday includes a 10k trail-run followed by an Enduro race—which is part of the Lake Superior Gravity Series. Stick around for more music into the evening along with booze, food, merch, and more. It all culminates with a raffle and crowning of the King & Queen of the Mountain, and Beast Mode Champions.
Copper Harbor Trails Fest does not have an official camping location, but offers plenty of lodging and camping options on its website. Learn more at copperharbortrails.org.

Adirondack Mountain Bike Festival
Sep 19-20, Old Forge, NY
This is a free festival put on by the Adirondack Foothills Trails Alliance. Cooler weather, the absence of annoying bugs and more than 50 miles of top-grade, machine-built and hand-built trails for all abilities combine to make the Adirondack Mountain Bike Festival a spectacular autumn event.
Adirondack Mountain Bike Festival organizers tell us they built 5-6 miles of new trails since the 2024 event, and are planning to build another 5-6 before the 2025 event. Outerbike Moab
Sep 27-29, Moab, UT
Nothing can really be said about the riding in Moab that hasn’t already been said a time or three. Outerbike Moab, and it’s cousin Outerbike Bentonville are the besy mountain bike festivals if you are looking to demo bikes.
These types of events are great for making a final decision on your next mountain bike purchase. I bought my Santa Cruz Tallboy after demoing one at the now defunct Rendezvous Teton Mountain Bike Festival at Grand Targhee resort
But Outerbike Moab is not just about demos. This premiere bike festival includes shuttle rides to all the great red rock riding, provided meals, vendors, parties a swag bag and a good time for all. There is no dedicated camping, but the town and surrounding area have plenty of camping and lodging.
The great thing about the town Moab is the locals are 100% behind mountain biking, so every hotel, shop and restaurant you encounter are filled with employees who are happy to see you. Learn more about Outerbike Moab at outerbike.com

Güdrun – Northwoods MTB Festival
Nov 7-9, Hot Springs, AR
This festival takes advantage of the Northwoods Trails System, which includes trails designed and built by The International Mountain Bicycling Association. We don’p’t know to much about this mountain bike festival, other than it includes riding with a bunch of vikings. So bring a horned hat. More info on this event is TBA. www.northwoodstrails.org
Editor’s Note: While updating this 2025 edition of the Ultimate Guide to Mountain Bike Festivals in the U.S., we learned that approximately 15 mountain bike festivals have disappeared in the past couple seasons. The organizers of Outerbike Killington and Outerbike Crested Butte, for example, tell me they’ve temporarily dropped the events due to a lack of support from major brands.
We hope to report more on this but, if you happen to have any insight on the issue, or any news on festivals in general, please reach out to us.
