Sedona Mountain Bike Festival

Mar 8-10, Sedona AZ

Sedona Mountain Bike Festival

When we reached out to the MTB community and asked what are the best mountain bike festivals in the US, the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival was the most frequent answer. If you live in the Western states, you hear a lot of talk about how magical of a place Sedona is. And locals know Sedona is the best place to mountain bike in Arizona.

If you’re looking for an active and bustling festival, this is the festival for you. The trails will be busy and the events packed with MTB lovers. The Sedona Mountain Bike Festival includes a main Expo/festival, bike demos, shuttled rides, gear vendors, a beer garden, great bands, food trucks, skills clinics and a whole lotta sweet red singletrack! sedonamtbfestival.com

Hurricane Mountain Bike Festival

Apr 5-7, Hurricane, UT

The Hurricane Mountain Bile Festival is one of many mountain bike festivals in the United States

I recall camping on Gooseberry Mesa one year. It was the weekend before the Hurricane Mountain Bike Festival and I had to get real creative to find a place to camp. I wasn’t surprised. After all, Hurricane is the most popular place to mountain bike in Southern Utah. Is it any wonder they put on a festival there?

The festival pass includes three days of shuttles, a few meals, raffle ticket and demos, skills clinic and access to the block party, live music and beer garden. There’s a lot of free, dispersed camping in the area. I mentioned Gooseberry but for many reason the Sheep Bridge South area near JEM Trails network is another option. Enjoy! hurricanemtbfestivale.com

Santos Fat Tire Festival

Mar 7-10, Ocala FL

Santos Bike Festival

Westerners struggle with the idea of mountain biking in Florida. Why? There are no mountains. But seriously, you’ll get your share of total ascent on the Ocala trail network, which is arguably the best place to mountain bike in Florida.

The Santos Fat Tire Festival features the EPIC 50 RIDE on Saturday but, if you’re like me, you’ll peel off long before you finish. The festival includes camping at the adjacent Santos Campground, a huge vendor village with bike booths & food trucks, music, and skills clinics and more. santosfattire.come

Fruita Fat Tire Festival

May 3-5, Fruita, CO

Fruita Fat Tire Festival

Colorado is a great state for mountain biking and the local riders there are super friendly. I remember camping at 18-road by myself one year. One of my camp neighbors spotted me looking all sad and lonely. 30 minutes later I was riding with the gang at one of the best places to mountain bike in Florida.

The Fruita Fat Tire Festival offers three days of riding on the legendary 18 Road/Bookcliffs trail system. There are two venues: one for bike demos and riding, the other for the main expo in downtown Fruita.

NEW for 2024, e-Bikes are a thing at the festival and they are now legal on the trails at the 18 Road venue!

If you can get there early enough, there’s free camping in the 18-Road area, but you might have to settle for one of the free BLM sites in North Fruita Desert. A pass includes a t-shirt, demos, group rides, swag, guided rides. Sadly, you’ll have to behave yourself because the drive beck from the festival is not so short. fruitafattirefestival.com

Bentonville Bike Fest

May 23-26, Bentonville AR

Every year, the Bentonville Bike Fest draws in cyclists and mountain bikers from all over the country. Organizers estimate the festival draws 25k people each year, making this one of the largest mountain bike festival in the US.

Our take is the festival seems to be very commercialized with large corporate sponsors and IMBA connections. So if big crowds and energy are your thing, go for it.

The three-day event features both competitive and recreational rides as well as a variety of other activities for spectators and participants alike. While the main focus is on biking, the Bike Fest also includes a number of other attractions, making it a fun and unique event for the whole family. bentonvillebikefest.com

Rooted Mountain Bike Festival

Jul 19-22,* Bemus Point NY

Rooted Mountain Bike Festival featured as in Wasatch Rider

Rooted is an all skill level women’s mountain bike festival. This event was created because nothing like it exists within a ten hour near western New York. I’m just gonna say it. This isn’t fair. All-girl festivals sound sick. All-guy festivals? Not so much.

Rooted Mountain Bike Festival creator Heather Kinal wanted a place to learn new skills and ride with other women and decided to create what couldn’t be found locally. She wanted to build an event that other women would want to travel hours to participate and we were so stoked last year to have women join us from 15 different states and Canada! rootedmtbfest.com

WYDAHO Rendezvous Teton Bike Festival

Aug 30-Sep1, Driggs, ID/Altas, WY

wydaho rendezvous Teton Bike Festival

Grand Targhee Resort, in Teton Valley WYDAHO (Wyoming/Idaho), is the home of the festival with three names. Just kidding, but I swear I often forget the name. I just call it the WYDAHO Fest for short.

The event started as a small local event in Driggs and included rides in the Valley’s three surrounding networks (Grand Targhee, the Big Hole Mountains and the Snake River Range. Not only that. but the legendary Teton Pass is right next door.

When Grand Targhee Resort saw what was happening, they jumped in with both feet and built out a ton of killer trails. Eventually, the festival officially moved up the hill to the resort and is now one of the coolest mountain bike festivals in the US.

The multiple trail networks, shenanigans, parties, chairlifts, shuttles are great, but the camping and camaraderie make this a special event and definitely one of the best places to mountain bike in all of Wyoming and Idaho. tetonbikefest.org
